In class we will use iPhoto to create a slide show. Below I have posted a short video that will walk you through the process of creating a slide show in Picasa. It's as effective and in some cases better than iPhoto in managing your photo library. For users that do not have access to iPhoto, you can download Google's Picasa. While we use iPhoto in the classroom, there are several other photo editors that do a great job in managing, editing, and creating slide shows. Use pictures to make a map of the school (K) Ideas for using iPhoto in the classroom Using Photos as a seating chart In iPhoto, we will look at using photography in the classroom. Using this visual representation will help students understand abstract concepts like fractions. Then dividing the pie into six different pieces and taking a picture of each piece. An example of this would be taking a picture of a pie. The icon for the application can also be dragged to your dock to create a short-cut if required.The incorporation of visual stimuli in your lessons will increase your effectiveness as a teacher. The Yophoto application will also be displayed in ‘Launcher’ view. The Yophoto application can be found and launched from the Yophoto Editor Folder. Then just follow the instructions provided by the install program to complete the installation. Mac users should double click file called YophotoEditor8.dmg and then drag the Yophoto folder icon onto the Applications Folder in the pop up window. Click “Yes” to start the installation, or locate the installation file, and double click it if you have saved it to your hard drive first.
Once the downloading process is completed successfully you may be prompted if you want to install the software.
Click the run button if you wish to download and install the programme in one step, or click the save button if you prefer to save the setup file to your hard disc for installation at a later time. You are prompted to Run or Save the installation programme. Click on the “Yophoto Software” button on the website, then on the Software page choose the PC or Mac version to download.
